Description

You own the design and maintenance of enterprise data architecture. This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise data architecture using PostgreSQL for operational systems and AWS analytics pipelines (S3/Parquet, Glue, Athena, Redshift).
• Define canonical data models, schemas, indexes, and partitioning strategies to support SOA microservices.
• Lead ETL/migration efforts for legacy and acquired systems, ensuring data reconciliation and quality.
• Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including metadata management, lineage, and access control (FERPA, COPPA, SOX).
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design event-driven data flows using patterns like outbox, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data management.
• Deep expertise in relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning).
• Proficiency with cloud-native data platforms including AWS (S3/Parquet, Glue, Athena, Redshift).
• Proven experience leading system consolidation and large-scale data migrations.
• Strong proficiency in ETL/ELT pipelines and tools.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and streaming patterns.
• Strong SQL skills; experience with Python or Scala for data processing.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks (FERPA, COPPA, SOX).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
