Description

You will own the overall architecture and technical direction of the Symphony Data Platform, guiding its evolution from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and govern the metadata-driven architecture framework supporting the platform.
• Lead architectural planning for Phase 2 initiatives, including platform modernization, refactoring, and scalability improvements.
• Define and enforce standards for data modeling, warehousing, pipeline architecture, and code structure.
• Ensure orchestration pipelines handle only scheduling and workflow management, with ETL logic maintained in code.
• Mentor data engineers, guide hands-on architectural decisions, and lead technical design reviews.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture or Data Engineering.
• Expert-level understanding of Apache Spark architecture and distributed data processing.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Scala and/or Java.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and deep expertise in Data Warehousing and Data Modeling.
• Extensive experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise data platforms and metadata-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with GitHub for source control and collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and migration initiatives.
• Background in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Marketing Analytics.
