Description

You will lead the design and implementation of a modern AWS-based data lakehouse architecture, balancing 80% hands-on engineering with 20% strategic oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data lakehouse architectures using AWS services.
• Define and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure compliance and security.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate diverse data sources and optimize performance.
• Support data mesh architecture patterns and distributed data ownership models.
• Actively code and build solutions while providing strategic architectural input.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, and Step Functions.
• Strong understanding of data mesh principles and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for automated provisioning.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data integration and transformation pipelines.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with practical, hands-on execution.
• Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with compliance-heavy industries such as Healthcare or Financial Services.
• Experience implementing automated governance and metadata management tools.
