Description

Design and govern end-to-end data architecture for Insurance data platforms, owning ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics layers.

You will architect scalable, secure cloud-based solutions using AWS, Redshift, and Snowflake, translating complex Life, Annuity, and Pre-need business requirements into technical data models.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce data standards, governance frameworks, and scalable data models aligned with insurance business processes.
• Drive data integration strategies between source systems, data warehouses, and downstream analytics or reporting platforms.
• Provide hands-on guidance for SQL and Python-based data transformations, ensuring performance tuning and cost management.
• Partner with business stakeholders and engineering teams to validate data definitions, KPIs, and domain accuracy.
• Mentor junior architects and data engineers while supporting leadership with architecture roadmaps and risk assessment.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of overall IT experience with significant focus on data architecture and analytics platforms.
• Proven domain expertise in Insurance, specifically Life, Annuity, and Pre-need products and regulatory reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Snowflake, including integration patterns and Iceberg.
• Advanced SQL skills for data modeling, transformation, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and orchestration.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lakes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Spark/Scala for modern data engineering patterns.
• Exposure to real-time or near-real-time data processing.
