Description

Lead the design and maintenance of technology-agnostic logical data models and translate them into modern physical schemas for SQL and MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer legacy IMS/DB2 structures and interpret COBOL copybooks to extract accurate business entities and field definitions.
• Define end-to-end downstream integration strategies including REST APIs, event streaming (Kafka/MQ), and CDC pipelines.
• Direct and validate AI-assisted pipelines for reverse engineering, ERD creation, data dictionary generation, and schema documentation.
• Produce core architecture artifacts including data dictionaries, ERDs, mapping specifications, and integration contracts.
• Collaborate with SMEs to ensure data models and integration flows align with business rules and undocumented domain logic.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, integration design, and modernization projects.
• Proven ability to reverse-engineer legacy IMS/DB2 and COBOL structures into modern data models.
• Strong experience designing integration patterns including REST APIs, event streaming, and CDC.
• Proficiency in SQL and MongoDB for physical schema design.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for data modeling and documentation.
• Deep understanding of legacy mainframe environments beyond IMS/DB2.
