Description

You will design, optimize, and maintain data architectures that power insurance products, analytics, and operations.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data models, pipelines, and storage solutions for insurance products.
• Architect and optimize cloud-based data platforms for performance, cost efficiency, and security.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and data science teams to define data requirements.
• Implement data governance, quality, and metadata management practices.
• Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and guidelines for data architecture standards.

Required Skills

• 3–7 years of experience in data architecture or data engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and database design for relational and NoSQL systems.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
• Experience designing data solutions for analytics, reporting, and machine learning workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the insurance or insurtech industry (claims, underwriting, actuarial, policy lifecycle).
• Familiarity with insurance-specific data standards (e.g., ACORD).
• Experience with data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation) or event-driven architecture (Kafka, Kinesis).
