You administer and optimize the enterprise data catalog, ensuring effective metadata management, discovery, and governance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the Data Catalog platform (Alation, Atlan, or similar).
• Integrate the catalog with databases, data lakes, BI tools, and cloud applications.
• Manage metadata ingestion, curation, classification, and enrichment for data discovery.
• Implement role-based access controls and enforce data security and privacy policies.
• Automate catalog tasks using scripting and APIs to improve efficiency.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience administering data catalog platforms (Alation or Atlan preferred).
• Proficient in SQL and working with relational databases (Snowflake, BigQuery, SQL Server).
• Strong understanding of metadata management, data governance, and data lineage principles.
• Familiar with data privacy and governance standards (GDPR, CCPA).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve catalog integration or performance issues.
• Experience with ETL tools and scripting languages (Python, SQL).
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data lakes.
• Certification in Alation, Atlan, or recognized Data Governance frameworks.
