Description

You will manage physical infrastructure and hardware lifecycle within the data center and communications closets in Herndon, VA.

Responsibilities

• Install, rack, and stack hardware including switches, servers, and appliances.
• Manufacture, install, and troubleshoot data center compliant cabling using copper and fiber.
• Manage asset lifecycles, including centralized receiving, inventory tracking, and e-waste disposal verification.
• Perform hardware testing on servers and components to resolve failures.
• Maintain data center safety, security, and environmental stability.

Required Skills

• 2 to 4 years of experience in data center operations.
• Hands-on experience with DCIM tools and ServiceNow.
• Proficiency in installing and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber cabling.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Visio).
• Knowledge of SAN storage, network operations, and telecommunications technologies.
• Ability to lift 30lbs or more regularly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing hardware and network issues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• College degree or equivalent experience.

• Advanced studies or higher degree.
