Description
You will own the physical infrastructure that powers the cloud, from racking new gear to maintaining existing hardware across global data centers.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, rack, stack, and wire servers, switches, routers, and power distribution units.
- Diagnose, repair, and upgrade hardware components, including replacing faulty drives and performing integrations.
- Debug and resolve issues related to networking, hardware, and the Linux operating system.
- Manage inventory, submit RMAs to vendors, and coordinate shipping and receiving of equipment.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and support the setup of new data center facilities.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with servers, hardware, and networking.
- Basic proficiency with Linux OS, including working in terminal sessions and command line.
- Experience racking, stacking, and wiring servers and power distribution units.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, networking, and Linux OS issues.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10-15%).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with remote teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience setting up new data centers from scratch.
- Familiarity with managing server and component inventory systems.
