Description

You execute physical data center operations, including cabling, termination, and hardware installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs), handling device labeling, power, and network connectivity.
• Install racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware, and grounding systems.
• Terminate simplex/duplex jumper cords, breakout outside plant fiber, and indoor tight buffered fiber.
• Test fiber using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO; calculate end-to-end loss budgets per TIA/EIA standards.
• Manage assets, audit inventory, and maintain detailed documentation and work logs.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data center field operations or fiber cabling.
• Proficiency with Krone and PMLS tools for termination and testing.
• Experience installing LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors for single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
• Competency using continuity testers, volt-ohmmeters, tone sets, and DCIM tools.
• Strong understanding of copper and fiber infrastructure installation and testing.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues and perform break-fix hardware support.
• Experience coordinating equipment receiving, shipping, and RMA processing.
• Any Graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of data center security protocols and badging requirements.
• Experience providing smart-hands assistance within specified SLA response times.
