Data Center Network Technician

You will manage physical hardware maintenance and network troubleshooting within a data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute physical hardware swaps including fabric, backbone, optical transceivers, line cards, and TOR replacement.
• Perform circuit diagnosis, remote link troubleshooting, and hardware log reviews to isolate root causes.
• Manage RMAs by working directly with vendors.
• Maintain asset management and ticket management systems.
• Mentor and guide L1 resources.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of IT-related experience.
• 2+ years of data center experience.
• Proficiency with physical layer tasks including fiber optic connections, cleaning, and contamination control.
• Strong understanding of ESD best practices and OSI layer principles.
• Experience with text-based CLI and IP-based networking.
• Knowledge of BGP routing protocols, Spanning Tree, VRRP, and LACP.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems.
• Scripting and automation experience using Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• A+/Network+ level of knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with environmental and safety management in a data center.
