Description

You will support data center operations, handling hardware installation, troubleshooting, and fiber optic maintenance within strict SLA windows.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) including device labeling, power, and network cable connectivity.
• Perform hardware support work orders involving certification, troubleshooting, and break-fix resolutions.
• Install and terminate fiber optic hardware, including mechanical and fusion splicing for simplex, duplex, and outside plant cables.
• Conduct testing using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO tools to calculate loss budgets and troubleshoot network issues.
• Manage asset auditing, daily work logs, and documentation while maintaining a safe operating environment.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of fiber experience with proficiency in terminating SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure).
• Hands-on experience with DCIM tools and fiber testing equipment (OTDR, PMLS).
• Ability to mount racks, patch panels, and grounding systems.
• Proficiency with trade tools including crimp tools, tone sets, and Krone/3M/BIX tools.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills for rapid issue resolution.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work at heights or in confined spaces.
• Availability for shifts, weekends, holidays, and 25% travel.

Preferred Skills

• Industry certifications (Corning/FOA) and data center installation experience.
• OSP and confined space entry experience for splicing.
