Description

You will manage physical hardware deployments and decommissioning within the data center.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Decommission hosts and servers while ensuring compliance with data security protocols and updating asset management records.
• Install NVME drives and perform diagnostic testing using Linux commands to verify successful configuration.
• Configure ePDU hardware, including IP address setup and verifying MAC addresses and model numbers in tracking systems.
• Rack switches, secure equipment, and manage fiber and network cabling for efficient connectivity.
• Process SSDs at ERAD locations and maintain accurate documentation of all installations and configurations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations or related hardware environments.
• Hands-on experience with hardware installation, decommissioning, and cabling.
• Proficiency with NVME storage, ePDU configuration, and network switch setup.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cabling and connectivity standards.
• Ability to use Linux commands for hardware diagnostics.
• Experience using ticketing systems and monitoring task queues.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow technical documentation and safety protocols, including the use of PPE.
• Willingness to travel to other data center locations as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of networking concepts and IT asset management tools.
• CompTIA Server+ or Cisco CCNA certifications.
• Experience performing in-depth analysis on servers.
