Description

Manage data center site operations and critical system risks through hardware maintenance and technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware-level investigation, maintenance, and repair of servers, network components, and data cabling.
• Investigate and resolve operating system issues affecting production equipment availability.
• Execute impact and risk assessments alongside necessary service notifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of physical assets and connections.
• Organize communication and knowledge to support problem follow-up.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Linux/Unix proficiency sufficient to interrogate system hardware, review logs, report on file systems, and manipulate files.
• Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network concepts.
• Proficiency with Cisco IOS and JunOS.
• Ability to prioritize active data center services and ongoing projects.
• Ability to perform physical activities including walking, lifting, and climbing ladders.
• Strong communication skills to provide concise information to engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience replacing server and network hardware.
• Familiarity with reporting tools including Grafana and Splunk.
• Exposure to programming or scripting.
