Description

You will manage physical hardware operations and network troubleshooting within a data center environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute physical hardware swaps including fabric, backbone, optical transceivers, line cards, and TOR replacement.
• Perform circuit diagnosis, remote link troubleshooting, and hardware log reviews to identify root causes.
• Manage asset tracking and ticket workflows while coordinating RMAs with vendors.
• Handle rack and stack tasks, including cabling, fiber optic connections, and cleaning.
• Mentor L1 resources and collaborate with partner teams to maintain site standards.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of IT-related experience and 2+ years of data center experience.
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic connections, physical layer maintenance, and contamination cleaning.
• Proficiency with rack and stack procedures and cabling.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model, network principles, and IP-based networking.
• Knowledge of BGP routing protocols, spanning tree, VRRP, and LACP.
• Ability to use text-based CLI and familiarity with Linux-based systems.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Familiarity with ESD best practices and data center safety/environmental management.
• A+/Network+ level of knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
