Description

You will install, terminate, and test fiber optic and data center infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Mount and install racks, patch panels, and fiber optic hardware.
• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cables.
• Perform continuity testing on horizontal and riser cables using volt-ohmmeters and tone sets.
• Terminate simplex and duplex jumper cords, and breakout outside plant fiber.
• Calculate end-to-end loss budgets per TIA/EIA standards for multimode and single-mode fiber.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Fiber Technician.
• Installation of LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors.
• Termination of indoor tight-buffered multimode and single-mode fiber.
• Troubleshooting opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable.
• Experience with fan-out kits including buffer tube installation.
• Accurate completion of required documentation (timesheets, work orders, change orders).
