Description

You will manage fiber optic installation, termination, and testing within the data center.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Mount and install racks, patch panels, and hardware.
• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing for building entrance, maintenance space, and direct buried splices.
• Execute testing and troubleshooting using OTDR, Fluke, and EFXO to resolve end-to-end network problems.
• Calculate end-to-end loss budgets per TIA/EIA standards for single-mode and multimode fiber.
• Complete technical paperwork including work orders and change orders accurately.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with fiber connectors: LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, MP0/MTP.
• Proficiency terminating SMF and MMF using Unicam, anaerobic, and heat-cure methods.
• Hands-on experience with OTDR and PMLS testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to use trade tools including 110/66 block punch tools, tone sets, and combo crimp tools.
• Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 75 pounds.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Capability to provide onsite support via an on-call schedule and travel to various sites.

Preferred Skills

• 3-5 years of dedicated fiber experience.
• Industry certifications such as Corning, FOA, or BICSI.
• Experience with OSP and confined space entry splicing.
