Description

You will administer and tune Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform environments, ensuring operational readiness for developer teams.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer Kafka clusters, managing configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and high availability.
• Implement and manage Schema Registry with Avro serialization and support Kafka Connect operations.
• Enforce data security and access control using RBAC, ACLs, SSL, and SASL, troubleshooting security incidents.
• Plan and execute migrations from on-prem Kafka to Confluent Cloud.
• Troubleshoot end-to-end data flow issues and perform version upgrades with minimal downtime.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform operations.
• Deep understanding of Kafka architecture: topics, partitions, brokers, replication, and consumer groups.
• Proficiency in Schema Registry, Avro, and Kafka Connect.
• Strong skills in Kafka security mechanisms including RBAC, ACLs, SSL, and SASL.
• Experience with Confluent Cloud, including migration planning and execution.
• Proficiency in Shell Scripting and Python for automation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana.
