Description

Data Engineer responsible for building and optimizing data infrastructure to support enterprise systems transformation. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and centralized data platforms, consolidating data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 and legacy systems into a unified source of truth.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes that ingest and transform data from Dynamics 365 and legacy systems into Azure Synapse data lake and warehouse.
• Implement data cleansing, validation rules, and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency for enterprise reporting.
• Contribute to the design and expansion of enterprise data models and schemas, such as star schemas, to support evolving reporting needs.
• Prepare curated datasets for Power BI dashboards by writing efficient SQL queries and developing new pipeline components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements tied to enterprise system implementations and business initiatives.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes).
• 3–5 years of experience writing and optimizing SQL (T-SQL) queries on Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational databases.
• 1–3 years of experience in data modeling and database design.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics or similar cloud data warehousing technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including understanding of Power BI datasets, dataflows, and DAX.
• Comfort with programming or scripting languages like Python or PySpark to transform and manipulate data within pipelines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations or Customer Engagement) or similar ERP/CRM systems.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Power BI performance tuning and experience with other Microsoft BI stack components (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS).
• Experience with master data management, data cataloging, or data quality profiling tools.
• Background in private equity-backed industrial or multi-business-unit companies.
