Description

You will build and test cloud-based applications to facilitate backend system migrations, emphasizing quality, best-practice coding standards, and cost-effectiveness. You will develop reusable platform components and provide cloud integration support across project teams. Your work includes writing unit and integration tests, creating automation tools for daily tasks, and building rapid technical prototypes for early customer validation.

Responsibilities

• Build and test cloud applications for backend migrations with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop reusable code and components that serve multiple project teams across the organization.
• Provide cloud integration development support and leverage modern design patterns for scalable architecture.
• Write unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools to streamline daily operational tasks.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to integrate methodologies into engineering build pipelines and align with business goals.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Strong implementation expertise in cloud architecture, including storage, network, and computing services.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala and advanced SQL skills for data processing and manipulation.
• Experience with big data processing using Spark, Scala, or similar distributed computing frameworks.
• Sound knowledge of orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Strong command of Unix/Linux OS, shell scripting, JSON, and YAML.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, and databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as GitLab or Bitbucket.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with deployment and automation tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Ability to provide solutions utilizing best practices for resilience, scalability, and security.
