Description

You will own the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and database infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into SQL queries against relational tables to produce necessary reporting.
• Design and build scalable, performant databases using relational and NoSQL patterns.
• Develop ETL processes, stored procedures, complex queries, performance tuning, and data archiving using Python and ETL tools.
• Build efficient automation scripts to manage data workflows.
• Work within an Agile development process to support investment banking operations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (DB2, Sybase, SQL Server, Postgres, Greenplum).
• Proficiency in Python and Unix/K-Shell scripting.
• Expert knowledge of relational database performance tuning, including indexing, statistics management, and denormalization.
• Experience developing optimized stored procedures and complex queries.
• Familiarity with the lifecycle of trades and data flows within investment banking operations.
• Experience with ETL tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, Spark, Snowflake, or Databricks.
