Description

Architect and enhance data platforms and service-oriented architectures. Develop data processing logic using Spark, Java, and Scala. Lead engineering teams and mentor junior developers. Operate within Agile and DevSecOps development environments. Build and maintain modern, web-based architectures including REST APIs and event-driven microservices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and enhance scalable data platforms and service-oriented architectures.
• Develop robust data processing logic using Spark, Java, and Scala.
• Build and maintain modern web-based architectures, including REST APIs and event-driven microservices.
• Lead engineering teams and mentor junior developers to ensure technical excellence.
• Operate within Agile and DevSecOps development environments to ensure secure and efficient delivery.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with object-oriented languages.
• 5+ years of experience with Spark, EMR, Glue, or serverless cloud compute.
• 5+ years of experience architecting data platforms.
• 2+ years of team leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, Java, and Scala.
• Experience with REST APIs, Serverless, and event-driven microservices.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps practices.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Workday or large ERP platforms.
• Experience in financial services or the life insurance industry.
