Description

You will build data models for cloud cost allocation, attribution, and distribution to enable showback and chargeback capabilities.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design allocation rule engines supporting tag-based, account-based, and custom mappings.
• Build amortization models for upfront payments including 1-year and 3-year commitments.
• Implement shared cost distribution logic using proportional, even split, or fixed coefficient methods.
• Create untagged cost attribution systems using account ownership and heuristics.
• Develop forecasting input models based on historical trends.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of data engineering experience.
• Expert-level SQL and dimensional modeling.
• Proven experience building allocation and chargeback systems.
• Knowledge of FinOps cost allocation methodologies.
• Proficiency with data modeling tools such as dbt, LookML, or similar.
• Understanding of financial accounting concepts including amortization and accruals.
