Description

You will own the design, optimization, and maintenance of data infrastructure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Implement indexing, partitioning, and schema design improvements to boost query response times.
• Drive upgrades and migrations of SQL databases to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Automate performance testing, benchmarking, and monitoring for continuous system improvement.
• Establish and enforce best practices for SQL query writing, indexing, and data governance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering or development.
• Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with RDBMS platforms including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Solid understanding of database design, normalization, indexing strategies, and partitioning.
• Strong scripting/programming skills in Python or Bash.
• Experience working with high-volume transactional systems or large-scale data warehousing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for managing database changes.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to batch and streaming data architectures.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Google Bigquery, Aws Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
