Description

You will manage data governance operations, ensuring metadata accuracy, lineage integrity, and data quality across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Curate and manage metadata repositories to maintain accurate data definitions and relationships.
• Develop and maintain end-to-end data lineage diagrams to track data flow and transformation logic.
• Build and sustain business glossaries, aligning technical terms with business context.
• Author and execute data quality rules and validation checks to ensure data integrity.
• Coach and mentor agency data stewards on governance best practices and policy adherence.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of dedicated experience in data governance, specifically in metadata curation, lineage, glossaries, and quality rules.
• Hands-on proficiency with metadata management or data catalog platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Alation, or Collibra.
• Strong SQL skills for querying data sources and validating data structures.
• Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
• Ability to operate effectively within government or enterprise contexts, adhering to strict compliance and confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate across technical and business teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with data quality profiling tools (e.g., Collibra DQ, Informatica Data Quality) and familiarity with quality dimensions like completeness and accuracy.
• Azure certifications or prior experience in big-data environments.
• Experience with Power Platforms for building governance-related solutions.
