Description

Own the enterprise data governance framework, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and driving data quality across clinical and operational systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data governance policies, standards, and roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy and regulatory requirements.
• Establish data quality rules, metrics, and KPIs; lead root cause analyses and remediation efforts for EHR, claims, and lab data.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, 21st Century Cures Act, and CMS Interoperability rules through risk assessments and audit readiness.
• Administer data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon) and embed governance controls into data pipelines.
• Facilitate Data Governance Council meetings and present metrics and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or healthcare data roles, with at least 2 years in a lead capacity.
• Deep familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC) and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH, CMS).
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
• Strong SQL skills and experience navigating complex healthcare data environments (EHR, claims, ADT, lab systems).
• Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.

Preferred Skills

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a healthcare context.
