Description

You will lead data governance initiatives and chair the Department’s Data Governance Committee to ensure data quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Chair the Data Governance Committee and convene working groups of data stewards to resolve departmental needs.
• Oversee the creation, implementation, and enforcement of agency-wide data governance policies, including data collections, requests, and releases.
• Facilitate meetings between technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify data challenges and determine solutions.
• Maintain a critical data issues log to identify quality impediments and assign accountability for resolution.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the committee and leadership, escalating issues and submitting recommendations for approval.
• Track and oversee data sharing agreements and facilitate collaboration between program areas and technology.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, data science, research, statistics, or three years of experience in research/data management.
• 2+ years of experience in data governance, policy development, or reporting.
• Proven project management experience.
• Expertise in data management and navigating data quality or governance issues.
• Strong facilitation skills with experience in consensus building and meeting management.
• Demonstrated experience in change management or process development.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional groups.
