Description

You will own data governance, lineage, and catalog maintenance for enterprise data assets.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Create end-to-end data flow diagrams and document field-level metadata for source systems and downstream consumers.
• Populate and maintain the Alation data catalog with datasets, glossary terms, lineage, and ownership information.
• Develop and document data exchange policies, including security, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Support data quality initiatives by documenting rules, tracking issues, and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with business, IT, and vendor teams to validate data assets and ensure definition clarity.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, or data stewardship.
• Hands-on experience with data catalog tools, specifically Alation.
• Strong SQL fundamentals and familiarity with relational data structures.
• Experience documenting data flows, field-level mappings, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of data modeling, lineage concepts, and data exchange standards.
• Proficiency in data flow diagramming tools such as Visio or Lucidchart.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks, Kafka, or ETL processes within Data Lake environments.
• Proven track record leading data catalog initiatives and governance artifact development.
