Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed Oracle stored procedure inventories and assess complexity, lines of code, and Oracle-specific functionality.

Classify stored procedures based on migration approach, including direct migration, moderate refactoring, or complete redevelopment.

Define database targets for individual systems, including Aurora PostgreSQL and interim Oracle environments.

Design Aurora Global Database architectures supporting cross-region replication and defined recovery objectives.

Develop DynamoDB Global Tables strategies, including partition-key design and high-throughput capacity planning.

Define database migration strategies using AWS DMS, including full-load, CDC, and cutover approaches.

Design data pipelines using Debezium, Kafka, and Snowflake for CDC-based data movement.

Assess Oracle RAC/PL/SQL business logic and recommend appropriate extraction, refactoring, or modernization strategies.

Define data architecture separating transactional workloads from analytical workloads.

Develop database consolidation and modernization strategies for existing enterprise database environments.

Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and cloud teams to validate migration approaches and technical designs.

Produce clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, migration strategies, and data-mapping deliverables.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience with Oracle database administration and/or development.

Strong expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle RAC, and Data Guard.

Hands-on experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL and Aurora Global Database.

Strong understanding of DynamoDB, including partition-key design, Global Tables, and high-throughput workloads.

Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).

Strong knowledge of Snowflake data warehouse architecture.

Experience designing and implementing enterprise database migration strategies.

Experience working with CDC technologies and event-driven data pipelines.

Strong analytical, architecture, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with financial services or other highly regulated enterprise workloads.

Experience with Debezium, Apache Kafka, and Snowflake Sink Connector.

Experience modernizing legacy Oracle database environments.

Knowledge of cloud-based data architecture and large-scale database consolidation.

Experience working with distributed, cross-functional architecture and engineering teams.

Strong understanding of database performance, scalability, availability, and disaster recovery
