Manage complex database migrations from on-premises environments to AWS cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Analyze on-premises transactional environments including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to plan migrations to AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Develop PL/SQL and T-SQL scripts to facilitate data movement from source to target databases.
• Identify and implement workarounds for technical issues and corner scenarios encountered during the migration process.
• Create test plans and test cases to validate database readiness and integrity post-migration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database migration and administration.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, SCT, and DMS.
• Proven track record migrating heterogeneous databases larger than 1TB.
• Proficiency in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB.
• Strong expertise in PL/SQL and T-SQL scripting.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of replication and high availability configurations.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Database - Specialty Certification.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
• Experience with ETL workflow management.
