Key Responsibilities

Analyse business requirements and translate them into data modelling deliverables: conceptual models, logical models and physical models.

Define and implement data models for data warehouse (DWH), operational data store (ODS) and analytic platforms. (Examples include star/snowflake schemas, normalized models, Data Vault etc.) 

Work with metadata, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data lineage. (For example: in roles tied to the Alation Data Catalog platform.) 

Collaborate with data engineers (ETL/ELT), BI/analytics teams to ensure data models are consumable, performant and aligned to upstream & downstream systems. 

Optimize model performance (indexing, partitioning, query performance) and ensure scalability and maintainability.

Conduct data modelling workshops, training and acting as a subject matter expert for data modelling standards and best practices. 

Work with data governance & stewardship teams to ensure model compliance, proper metadata
