You will design and optimize curated data assets on Google BigQuery to support the Enterprise Data Platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design logical, conceptual, and physical data models for the BigQuery curated layer using Kimball methodology.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability through partitioning, clustering, and query tuning.
• Define and maintain data definitions, relationships, and business rules to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with data engineers to implement models in ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Support BI and analytics teams by optimizing models for downstream consumption by tools like Looker or Tableau.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling and architecture within cloud data platforms, specifically BigQuery.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling (Kimball), data vault, and normalization/denormalization techniques.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience tuning BigQuery performance.
• Understanding of retail data models (sales, inventory, pricing, supply chain, customer analytics).
• Proficiency with ETL processes and familiarity with the GCP ecosystem.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging principles.
• Ability to engage with business analysts to translate data needs into structured models.
