Description

Design and maintain data models that support organizational information systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop logical and physical data models to ensure high data quality and minimize redundancy.
• Create and maintain a model repository using ERWin’s Model Mart and generate accurate DDL from physical models.
• Validate data objects and apply design principles when working with XML and XSD files.
• Synchronize physical models with instantiated databases and test all DDL before deployment.
• Evaluate and resolve discrepancies between data models and physical databases.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling or related roles.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis and manipulation.
• In-depth knowledge of XML and XSD for data architecture.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases and JSON files.
• Experience with retail POS databases.
• Ability to translate business needs into functional data models.
• Experience generating and testing DDL for relational and NoSQL databases.

Preferred Skills

• Identify opportunities for reusing existing data models in new contexts.
