Description

You design and optimize enterprise data warehouses and data marts using dimensional modeling and Data Vault techniques within Snowflake.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop logical and physical data models, including star and snowflake schemas, optimized for Snowflake architecture and query patterns.
• Define data cleansing and transformation rules to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance before loading into Snowflake.
• Analyze query performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement indexing strategies to reduce compute costs and improve execution speed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data structures and enforce data governance standards.
• Create detailed data model documentation, data dictionaries, and provide training to data engineers and analysts.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing and data modeling, with at least 5 years specifically in Snowflake environments.
• Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, SQL, and data modeling capabilities.
• Extensive experience designing relational, dimensional, and star schema data models.
• Ability to diagnose SQL performance bottlenecks and tune queries for efficiency.
• Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ERStudio, or Lucidchart.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and data engineers.
• Familiarity with integrating Snowflake with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Data Vault modeling techniques.
• Understanding of data integration principles and tools.
• Background in metadata management and data quality frameworks.
