Description
You will design and implement data architectures for complex healthcare datasets within a multi-tenant environment.
Responsibilities
- Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for new and expanding healthcare subject areas.
- Develop physical database objects, including optimal indexing strategies, triggers, stored procedures, and UDFs.
- Manage schema migration processes and ensure effective implementation alongside development and SRE teams.
- Execute query profiling and breakdown query plans to optimize performance for high concurrent workloads.
- Advise data engineering teams on high-volume data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in data modeling and database management.
- Proven ability to translate healthcare data and Implementation Guides (IG) into Entity Relationship models.
- Strong working knowledge of Healthcare Informatics, specifically HL7 FHIR at all levels.
- Experience with MPP or columnar database platforms such as Redshift, Azure, or Snowflake.
- 2 years of experience with traditional OLTP platforms like MS SQL Server.
- Hands-on expertise with Postgres and MS SQL.
- Experience managing multi-terabyte databases and high-volume migrations from traditional to columnar platforms.
- Knowledge of data partitioning, clustering keys, and distribution concepts in MPP environments.
- Understanding of data governance and CI/CD best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing storage patterns for LOB data structures.
- Experience working within multi-tenant platforms.
