Role Overview:

This role focuses on contributing to data strategy, transformation, and integration initiatives. The individual will be responsible for extracting and transforming data, developing data pipelines, and identifying suitable data sources. A significant part of the role involves complex data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as designing data warehouses and data marts. The position also encompasses code development, testing, deployment, and ensuring data governance practices are implemented and adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand, articulate, and apply principles of defined data strategy to business problems.
• Extract data from identified databases and create data pipelines.
• Transform data into relevant structures using appropriate techniques.
• Support understanding of requirements and service level agreements for data sources.
• Identify suitable data sources and perform initial data quality checks.
• Analyze complex data elements, systems, data flows, and dependencies to contribute to data models.
• Develop Logical and Physical Data Models, including data warehouse and data mart designs.
• Define relational tables, primary/foreign keys, and stored procedures for data model structures.
• Evaluate existing data models and physical databases for variances.
• Develop efficient data flows and analyze data-related system integration challenges.
• Write code to develop solutions and application features using appropriate programming languages.
• Create test cases, proofs of concept, and test code using appropriate approaches.
• Deploy software to production servers and contribute to code documentation.
• Translate business problems into data-related or mathematical solutions.
• Identify appropriate methods (analytics, big data analytics, automation) to solve problems.
• Provide recommendations to business stakeholders and develop business cases.
• Translate business requirements into projects aligned with business strategy.
• Establish, modify, and document data governance projects and recommendations.
• Implement data governance practices and interpret company/regulatory policies on data.
• Educate others on data governance processes and provide recommendations for updates.
