Description

Define and maintain data architectures for complex enterprise environments, ensuring consistency across OLTP, warehouse, and lakehouse implementations.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design logical and physical data models using ER modeling, normalization, and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Model schemas for relational databases (OLTP), data warehouses, and lakehouse/medallion architectures.
• Write, review, and optimize SQL queries and DDL scripts for PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Collaborate with domain SMEs and engineers to gather requirements, validate models, and explain design trade-offs.
• Apply consistent naming conventions, documentation, and standards using tools like ERwin, dbt, or draw.io.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data modeling within complex enterprise or multi-domain environments.
• Proficiency in relational databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and DDL script management.
• Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, draw.io, or dbt.
• Understanding of event-driven data design and schema registries (e.g., Confluent, AWS Glue).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to stakeholders and engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with healthcare transaction data (claims, eligibility, provider) and standards (X12 EDI, HL7, FHIR R4).
• Background in government healthcare programs (Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare) or MMIS systems.
