Description

You will design, modernize, and support a cloud-based data platform, transitioning legacy SSIS ELT processes to Azure Data Factory and advancing toward Microsoft Fabric.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy SSIS pipelines to Azure Data Factory and redesign ELT processes for lakehouse medallion architectures.
• Implement end-to-end monitoring and alerting for ADF, Fabric, and database environments to ensure data reliability.
• Perform SQL Server and Azure SQL administration, including performance tuning, indexing, and disaster recovery planning.
• Embed automated data quality checks and define SLAs/SLIs for pipeline performance and data availability.
• Build scalable, parameter-driven data pipelines and enforce CI/CD standards using Azure DevOps.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform, or DBA roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, and Azure SQL.
• Proven track record of migrating SSIS pipelines to modern cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell for scripting and administration.
• Experience designing scalable data lake architectures and cloud storage patterns.
• Ability to implement monitoring frameworks and perform root cause analysis.
• Understanding of ELT/ETL patterns and modern data architecture principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse) and Delta Lake.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, OneLake, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/ARM).
