Data Scientist / Developer Advocate (AI/ML)

You bridge the gap between the Decision Science Ecosystem platform team and the data science community. You enable data scientists to model and operationalize solutions on the DSE platform, targeting internal Crop Science consumers. You do not write production code but must read code to support the community.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the data science community to implement best practices and align with platform vision.
• Develop and contribute tools that simplify platform operations and data asset utilization.
• Create educational content and provide technical support for platforms like Location360 and CSW.
• Gather developer feedback and advocate for community needs to the platform team.
• Foster a thriving internal data science community through hackathons, workshops, and meetups.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data science, data modeling, or AI/ML.
• Proficiency in Python or R, including libraries like pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
• Experience with data visualization tools and MLOps practices.
• Strong understanding of model deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with top cloud platforms: AWS SageMaker, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to read and review code without writing production applications.
• Excellent communication skills for evangelism and community building.

Preferred Skills

• Masters degree in a quantitative field.
• Experience advocating for large data communities (600+ individuals).
