You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of data science models, from initial business requirements to production deployment and optimization.
Responsibilities
Shepherd models through the full lifecycle: requirements gathering, coding, production release, performance assessment, and refinement.
Build statistical, predictive, and forecasting models while accounting for algorithmic bias and its implications.
Communicate complex statistical concepts and model details to peers and non-technical stakeholders using clear, accessible language.
Support the team by providing training on Git workflows, statistical methods, and knowledge transfer.
Configure and troubleshoot Linux servers used for hosting data science tools, documenting code, server configurations, software settings, and workflows.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in data science roles.
Proficiency in coding data science solutions using R or Python.
Hands-on experience with Git for code version control and collaboration.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Linux servers.
Proven ability to use collaboration software such as Posit Workbench, Databricks, or Hex.
Strong background in building and validating statistical and predictive models.
Ability to use simulations to measure model effectiveness and optimize for constraints.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent graduate level education.
Preferred Skills
Experience working within a government, school district, or related public sector setting.
