Data Scientist

Build and deploy machine learning systems to support mission automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop experiments to collect data or create models to simulate data when necessary.
• Build feature vectors for machine learning algorithm inputs.
• Select appropriate algorithms and tune input and model parameters for specific datasets.
• Evaluate and validate analytics performance using cross-validation, ROC curves, and confusion matrices.
• Partner with software engineers and cloud developers to move analytics into production and guide analytic development toward scalable solutions.

Required Skills

• Programming experience with Python, R, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Experience developing and training machine learning systems based on statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in using standard metrics for model validation.
• Ability to oversee individual analytic efforts and guide team development processes.
• Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science with 7+ years of experience.
• Master's degree in a quantitative discipline with 5+ years of experience.
• PhD in a quantitative discipline with 2+ years of experience.
