Description

You will advance open-source solutions in the laboratory domain for a Federal Health client by integrating reference terminology into a common data model. You will own the knowledge architecture, lead a cross-disciplinary team of medical informaticists and data engineers, and collaborate with standards-development organizations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, maintenance, and documentation of a knowledge architecture.
• Lead medical informaticists and data engineers to encode and structure data for Java engineering teams.
• Design data structures and analyze clinical terminologies and their internal data relationships.
• Collaborate on automation for the ingestion and representation of data from disparate sources.
• Engage with standards-development organizations and industry SMEs to promote model iteration and publication.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in health data standards and terminology tools including SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm.
• Proficiency with UMLS and VSAC within Health IT systems.
• Experience with data mapping and designing data structures.
• Technical knowledge of C, Java, and SQL.
• Working knowledge of XML/JSON serialization formats.
• Experience working within a Scrum Agile team environment.
• Ability to write research proposals, briefing abstracts, and technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with relational and graph database design.
• Knowledge of ETL data integration processes and HL7 standards.
• Familiarity with interoperability technologies and data analytics.
