Description

Design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale cloud data warehouse solutions on Microsoft Azure.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based data warehouse solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks to ingest structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain dimensional data models in the Gold layer of the Medallion architecture.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and partitioning strategies while managing Synapse compute resources for performance and cost efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps for version control and automated deployment.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in data warehousing and Azure data platform implementations.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Databricks for data engineering.
• Strong SQL development skills with a focus on performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Analysis Services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools including Git, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Ability to analyze and modernize legacy systems, including COBOL, JCL, CICS/IMS, DB2, and VSAM.

Preferred Skills

• Experience translating complex business requirements into scalable technical data solutions.
• Proven track record in stakeholder management and collaborating with business analysts.
