Description

You will manage and maintain MySQL and AWS-hosted database environments to ensure high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Review daily service reports, including backups, maintenance, and monitoring, to resolve issues within SLAs.
• Respond to database alerts and escalations, participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation across L1, L2, and L3 support levels.
• Deploy database objects such as tables, indexes, packages, and views across multiple environments.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop security schemes, performance assessments, and strategic solutions for recurring problems.
• Perform root cause analysis and maintain technical documentation for database operations.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Deep expertise in MySQL, including architecture, storage engines, and InnoDB Cluster - Group Replication.
• Hands-on experience with AWS hosted databases, specifically RDS and Aurora for MySQL.
• Proficiency in SQL query tuning, slow query optimization, and troubleshooting stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Experience using AWS CloudWatch and MySQL/Percona toolkits to optimize database performance.
• Proven track record with cloud migration projects and data management flowcharting.
• Strong understanding of server-client computing and relational database environments.
• Ability to use Performance Monitor to gather metrics and define baselines.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, or APM tools.
• Knowledge of NoSQL, Microsoft SQL Server (2016-2019), and High Availability configurations.
• Relevant certifications such as Oracle (MySQL), AWS, GCP, Azure, MCTS, or MCITP.
