Description

Manage and maintain multiple DB2 LUW environments across Development, QA, Training, and Production. Own the full lifecycle of database upgrades, migrations, and new environment setups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and environment provisioning.
• Develop complex SQL statements for ETL and data migration processes.
• Support application developers with database design, implementation, and SQL performance tuning.
• Create detailed upgrade strategies including checklists, milestones, and fallback procedures.
• Collaborate with system administrators on OS and database patching.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL.
• 3+ years of experience with DB2 LUW.
• 3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Ability to work non-business hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Experience with Relational Data Modeling.
• Experience with Erwin for maintaining ERDs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with COBOL, Unix shell scripts (ksh, csh, bash, or sh), SQL Server, MySQL, or Teradata.
• Experience with Quest's Toad for DB2 LUW, IBM's DataQuant or QMF, or DBI Software's Performance Suite.
