Description

You will administer and maintain DB2 database systems across AIX, Linux, and Windows environments.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database systems on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
• Monitor database performance, capacity, and health to ensure optimal functionality and availability.
• Perform regular backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and tune database configurations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator with specific expertise in DB2 on AIX, Linux, and Windows.
• Strong knowledge of database administration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Understanding of database security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with scripting languages for automation and monitoring tasks.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or information technology or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Certification in DB2 database administration.
• Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
