Description

Manage the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement logical and physical relational database models and prototypes.
• Perform performance tuning and monitor database metrics such as memory availability and record distribution.
• Execute security, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to protect against hardware and software failures.
• Coordinate data loading, reorganization, and integrity controls to prevent redundancy.
• Direct programmers and analysts on database management system changes and review code for correctness.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience performing complicated database administration tasks independently.
• Extensive experience in systems design and computer systems analysis.
• Strong knowledge of database structures, theories, and current database technologies.
• Proficiency in computer programming languages and data processing flowcharting techniques.
• Experience with database operations, including installation, benchmarking, and threshold testing.
• Working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
• Ability to manage project control and cost estimating techniques.

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of experience with TxDOTCONNECT systems and processes.
