Description

Lead database administration and application modernization by migrating on-premises Oracle databases to Azure SQL Server.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Migrate on-premises Oracle relational databases to Azure SQL Server.
• Manage identity and access control, including object-level permissions and data masking for PII.
• Monitor and optimize Azure SQL performance using QueryStore at infrastructure, server, and database levels.
• Configure compute and storage resources to scale and forecast long-term growth.
• Develop and maintain database security standards, policies, and data integrity protocols.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Database Administration and Design using Azure/SQL Server in IaaS/PaaS environments.
• Proven expertise in migrating data from on-premises Oracle to Microsoft Azure SQL Server.
• Advanced proficiency in T/SQL, SQL, DML, DDL, and DCL for debugging and issue resolution.
• Extensive experience developing stored procedures, triggers, and scripts for enterprise production environments.
• Deep knowledge of implementing compliance controls, authentication, and authorization protocols.
• Hands-on experience with RDBMS admin tools including SSMS, TOAD, or SQL Developer.
• Experience configuring data integration and batch processing via Azure Data Factory or SSIS.
• Ability to document CI/CD processes, ETL pipelines, and data migration workflows.
• Experience reviewing query plans and execution plans to identify performance bottlenecks.
