Description

Own the database infrastructure for HHSC’s SCOR application, managing Oracle databases on Azure and AWS within an Agile environment.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance.
• Lead migration of on-premises Oracle databases to Oracle DB@Azure, decoupling BLOB storage into data and Azure Blob Storage.
• Transition batch cron jobs to Oracle Database Jobs to enhance workflow automation.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implementing monitoring for health, metrics, and storage capacity.
• Manage backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, including Oracle GoldenGate administration for data replication.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in database administration.
• 8+ years with Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
• 8+ years in database design, analysis, and performance tuning.
• 8+ years designing enterprise applications or services.
• 8+ years creating technical and functional design documentation.
• 8+ years using Agile methodology (Scrum) within software development life cycles.
• 8+ years with multi-tier system development (SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ETL data loading into Azure SQL.
• Experience migrating on-premises databases to Azure cloud environments.
• Proficiency in configuring PowerBI environments and developing reports.
