Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create, maintain, monitor, and support production databases, ensuring performance, capacity, availability, security, and data integrity.
Perform database performance tuning, benchmarking, threshold testing, capacity planning, and optimization across enterprise database environments.
Collaborate with programmers, business analysts, and technical teams to evaluate and implement database management system changes.
Evaluate requests for new data elements and systems while maintaining data integrity, consistency, standards, and controlled redundancy.
Perform database loading, reorganizing, backup, recovery, retrieval, and disaster recovery procedures to maintain reliable operations.
Develop logical and physical data models and design relational database structures based on business and technical requirements.
Design and maintain data warehouse structures including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models.
Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, database standards, documentation, and enterprise data definitions.
Create and manage test database environments, libraries, procedures, and supporting resources required for application development and validation.
Assist with database software installation, configuration, technology selection, benchmarking, security implementation, and recovery procedures.
Support data warehouse and data mart implementation from business requirements through logical modeling, physical design, sourcing, transformation, loading, and reporting.
Develop and maintain ETL processes using Informatica, IBM WebSphere DataStage, or comparable GUI-based ETL technologies.
Work extensively with enterprise database platforms including Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
Support analytical and enterprise reporting environments using Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion, MicroStrategy, or comparable reporting platforms
